NETWORKING ACTIVITY OF THE ENTRNET PROJECT IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PROMOTION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN THESSALONIKI

On 9 & 11/10/2023, The Small Enterprises Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants (IME GSEVEE) co-organized with the National Confederation of People with Disabilities (NCDP) at its premises in Thessaloniki, two (2) very interesting events. The main aim of these events was to promote social entrepreneurship for people with disabilities and Chronic Diseases.

More specific, the purpose of these 2 events was to remove stereotypical perceptions about the abilities of people with disabilities and chronic diseases in the workplace.

Moreover, the events were focused on:

1) the understanding of the requirements of the modern institutional framework for the employment of people with disabilities,

2) the understanding of the barriers faced by different categories of people with disabilities and chronic diseases and

3) highlighting ways to remove these barriers

4) presenting ways to integrate the disability dimension, as well as to present good practices from Greece and abroad.

In the context of these actions, IME GSEVEE, as the lead partner, presented the Erasmus+ (KA3) project entitled “ENTRnet”. The main aim of the project is to enhance entrepreneurship in adult education, through the development of national networks of adult education providers. In this networking activity, IME GSEVEE presented the project’s e-learning platform and the module entitled “Cooperative Entrepreneurship” which it curated. All the modules are based on “micro-learning” experiences and include enriched information resources, ice-breaking activities and hands-on activities. For more information, you can register on the platform for free: www.learn.entrnet.eu .

In conclusion, it is noteworthy that these events were attended by representatives of the NCDP who presented in detail the topics of the event, employers and small enterprises represented by the GSEVEE, social cooperative enterprises, and disability organizations.
